TOTAL THEATRE PRESENTS...
A Winter Vaudeville Supper Club Murder Mystery!
Fancy joining us on a luxury cruise? The holiday of a lifetime?
The brochures promise first class cabins, impeccable service, gourmet cuisine and spectacular entertainment, with sun bleached beaches, turquoise water and endless blue skies once you arrive at your final destination. Who said anything about snowstorms, blizzards, ice flows, Russian submarines and espionage? Set amongst secret assignations, jewellery thefts, espionage and storms at sea, this promises to be a night to remember! Add a disinherited Russian countess, an excentric, old lady, a mad sea captain, a cunning KGB agent, a beautiful spy, a few intensely annoying passengers and an amateur sleuth or two and what do you have? A recipe for murder!
Come on board the good ship SS Vladistock, and help us solve this Siberian murder mystery where nothing is, as it seems in this world of strange characters, artful disguises, subterfuge and villainy, where above all the show must go on!
“We’ll do the show, you can bring the supper.”
The show will begin at 8pm, but doors are open from 7pm, and we invite you to bring an indoor picnic to enjoy whilst being waited on by our wonderful Russian cruise ship staff. Seating will be in supper club style and tables of 8 can be reserved so why not get a group together or bring the whole family!

TOTAL THEATRE NEWS
2005 has seen us welcome our 4th group of wonderful 1st yr students, and what a busy time they’ve had so far!
Apart from their intensive training with our fantastic teachers, which has included: Acting, Mime, Feldenkrais, Mask, Dance, Circus Arts, Aerial Skills, Singing, Percussion, Clowning, Tai Chi, Stage Combat, Acro-balance and Tap, they’ve also taken part in some roving entertainment – as Clowning Doctors for Rotary’s ‘Cord Blood Bank’ launch and for Nocturnal Ball 2005’ at Metropolis Fremantle. Our 2nd yrs joined in also, and have been doing some roving performances of their own, at various corporate functions and a guest appearance at the monthly story telling night (Tropicana Café, Fremantle) – performing Angela Carter’s ‘The Company of Wolves’.
Our Mid-Year show this year was a fantastic Double Bill involving 1st yrs, 2nd yrs and Graduates! ‘The Wrong Side Of The Tracks’ began with ‘Parallel Dreams’ – a collection of stories, fragments and dreams from the edge of sleep and the edge of time, showcasing our 1st years. This was followed by ‘Bad Girls’ – A celebration of the wild, disdained, rejected, loathed, insulted, disorderly, manic, exotic, beautiful and ultimately redemptive quality of the lives of women throughout time, showcasing 2nd yrs and Graduates. Along with the added treats of the wonderful Mark Turton on piano, and some tasty mulled wine for guests during the interval, the show was a great success!
Total Theatre has now established a reputation for their thoughtful and original Theatre-In-Education shows. Primary Schools and Aged Care Homes have been booking early this year for our September tour. Dr. Reg Bolton will once again be working with students to create 2 shows – one for kids and one for the elderly. Students always look forward to this experience, as it’s a chance to get involved in every part of the process - administration, writing, directing, design, and production management.

APPLICATIONS/AUDITIONS FOR 2006
Applications are now open for our one-year course in 2006, with first round
auditions being held in November 2005.
Total Theatre is fast establishing itself as an exciting and innovative school
at the forefront of Physical Theatre Training.
The diversity and flexibility of the training allows students to explore a wide-range
of physical theatre skills whilst simultaneously creating a safe and nurturing
environment, in which each individual can develop their creative vision at their
own pace. We place a strong emphasis on theatre practice and performance. During
the year, students have the opportunity to create their own repertoire of individual
and ensemble work, participate in community events, and perform in new original
works.
Training runs for 3 days a week; however, the rigorous training and production
schedule requires a large amount of commitment, and students need to be willing
to put in extra time beyond school hours.
