Total Theatre so far…
After opening our doors in March 2002 we have taken over 40 students through
the year-long training, 10 graduates through the second year course, created
9 productions, including Theatre-in-Education tours to Primary Schools, High
Schools and Aged Care Residencies, and 2 sell-out promenade style productions
at Camelot Theatre. Our aim here at Total Theatre is to provide students with
a holistic training that will be enriched by their own dreams and passions.
We endeavour to provide the most expert teachers available, from a wide range
of art forms and to provide each student with an ideal environment where they
feel respected and safe to learn and explore, whilst taking responsibility for
themselves and their training.
Total Theatre One-year course
Now in its third exciting year, Total Theatre is fast establishing itself as
one of the best theatre training opportunities available in Australia.
The one-year course runs from March- November each year, 3 days a week from
9.30am – 5pm. The intensive, performance-based course, with its emphasis
on physical theatre, provides a well rounded integrated, organic training that
prepares students for all forms of theatre. Training includes: Creative Movement,
Theatre, Mime, Feldenkrais, Mask, Improvisation, Dance, Circus Arts, Voice,
Singing, Text, Scriptwriting, Stage Combat, and Clowning.
An optional second year of training provides an opportunity for students to
continue their training whilst beginning to create their own individual and
ensemble work. For further details check out our website www.totaltheatre.com.au
